my situation… i have built up about a $22K credit line since i turned 18 7 years ago. i always made payments on time and until about a year ago was only carrying a balance of a couple thousand dollars. about a year ago, i lost my job and after about 6 months of RELUCTANTLY living off credit cards, i found myself in about a $15K hole. also, i now have 4 or 5 30 day late blemishes on my report. for the last 6 months, high interest rates and such have made it hard to reduce this amount any, so i still owe about $15K with about $22K total credit available. i have been worried about how applying for more credit could affect my score and thus, subsequent loans. would 0% balance transfer cards be worth looking into? can i get a card or cards for that high of an amount? has anybody been in a similar position? any worthwhile advice? thanks for your help.
i was unemployed for about 6 months, but HAVE been employed for about the last 6 months – made payments on time and everything all the while
What you should do is try to transfer all of your balances to a card with a fixed apr on balance transfers until the balance is paid off in full. You transfer all of your balances to this card, do not use it for new purchases and then pay it off as quickly as you can over time.
This type of card does not have a 0% APR but the savings can add up to more in the long run because the APR is fixed and will not skyrocket after the intro period.
That said, it sounds like you might have trouble getting approved for new credit right now, so you may want to call up your current credit cards and see if they will allow a fixed rate balance transfer.

What did you end up getting with the rewards. What compelled you to spend? How has having a rewards card has changed your life and your everyday behaviors. What are you charging now that you never thought you would? Thanks. These can be positive or negative.
I’m a grad student doing research about how technology and new financial instruments are affecting people on a granular level.
These plastic cards are like magic wands, which entice young and old.
Once into their trap, you feel the rap, and then you start to think , what a fool to be trapped into this card of a credit card or what ever.
Interest to pay and amounts to repay, will all look so funny and turn out to be a bizarre joke in the end.
You’ll land up paying more on doctor’s bills or taking sleeping pills instead.

my card is missing and idk how to cancel it, the bank wont be open till monday and i need to do this before someone uses my card if they havent already. i just signed up for banking online but my password is coming in the mail and is not here yet. i really need help i cant afford this right now.
and if money does get taken from my account and will the bank give it back or is it just gone forever.
Go to:
www.dexknows.com
Type in the name of the card and the city.
You should then receive a 1-800 #
Call the number and an automated system should walk you through the rest. All credit card companies have a 24 hour lost or stolen line.
I hope that helps.
Oh yeah one more thing!!
VERY IMPORTANT – If you do have a purchase on your card b4 you cancel it all you have to do is:
Call the banks 1-800 # on the next business day and tell them the card was stolen on such and such date and you need to be transfered to their dispute line. Then all you have to do is dispute the charge and they will investigate the charges but while they are investigating the charges they will refund your money back.
You know what?? You should just IM me on Yahoo & we will talk about it. I used to manage a company that dealt with a lot of card disputes.

Also what are the highest gas cards?
This highest cash back (or gas rebate) available is 5%. You can get 5% cash back with the Discover More or American Express Blue Card cards.
If you’re looking for a Visa or Mastercard, the Chase Freedom Card is probably your best bet at 3% cash back. The Chase Perfect Card also has 3% cash back with double rewards (6%!) for 3 months.
You can find these offers (and more) here:

Hope this helps. GOOD LUCK!

I am trying to rebuild my credit after ID theft, a couple of problems that were mine and years of basically not having any credit reported. (I primarily use my debit card and pay cash for everything). I make good money now and am trying to rebuild in order to purchase a condo in the next couple of years. My good accounts (rental, club, cable, cell, etc.) have not reported my good credit. So how many cards should I take out that will help boost my credit score but not hinder my credit. Thank you!
I would take out no more than 2. I would start out with a secured card. Granted you would have to put a deposit upfront to secure a line of credit, but the deposit would also garner interest while you’re proving your creditworthiness. You could start out small, like $200-300 or larger like $1000-2000. Either way, I strongly suggest you to continue to use your debit card and pay cash like you’ve been doing, and make small purchases that you can pay off in full every month (around $20-50). I would only use the credit card in dire emergencies. After the secured card becomes unsecured, then you could receive offers for other cards, but chances are just the one card could work just as well. Be sure to dispute anything that was involved in the identity theft and make sure that you have a POLICE REPORT. Your "good accounts" (rental, club, cable, cell, etc.) CAN be reported through this reporting agency called PRBC. (http://prbc.com/default.php?) This is for REAL. You can have your good credit reported and complied in a scored report that can be considered with your traditional credit reports. It’s become increasingly popular and I’m certain that it will help you out immensely.

Can a 21 yr old rent a car with thr creditcard but have a 25 yr old drive the car?is that posible?
and if so how?
Yes, a 21 y/o can rent a car with a major credit card but they will have to pay a fee for being under the age of 25. Also, they can add an additional driver, but will also have to pay a fee for that too. The fee for being under 21 depends on the type of car you rent but it’s usually $25/day extra.
You can get discounts for belonging to certain clubs like AAA Auto Club, Sams Club, etc.
EDIT – Also, the credit card has to be in the renter’s name.

and marketing company.i signed on the behalf of customer thats farud customer made complain and i admit i did mistake every human make mistakes so i did because i was desperate for sale.manager dismisses me.the company owe me £1500 bonus for previous sales and they are not paying me is any legal way to get my money back.i worked with them almost 11 months and my performance was fantastic?
I would walk away from this. If you persue a legal case then they could have you charged with committing the legal offence of fraud which could land you in jail. Find another job and dont be dishonest in the next one
