Does anyone get credit card balance transfer offers with zero balance transfer fees any more?

March3

Not zero interest rate, zero FEEs. I used to get those offers in years past, but no longer. My credit is perfect, but I am probably no longer a perfect customer from the POV of the cards, because I have high limits I don’t use, pay off my balances every month, don’t use most of my cards most months, etc.
PS – I have Amex, MC / Visa, Discover.
If you are getting them, can you tell me your gen credit profile, the card name, do you carry a balance, etc? Tx

I think most have gone to transfer fees. Even some of the 0 interest rules are changing. Now you have to make a charge every month, thus creating a new charge that will be billed at the regular interest rate.

Yes, they are still around. I just got one from Citibank and took advantage of No interest and no fees until July 2008.

Gone are the days with 0% APR’s on balance transfers. The feature was misused so much that credit card companies thought it best to revoke these offers. The reason could be the loss of revenue to credit card companies but this habit of transferring balances frequently and avoiding the debt repayment was increasing the volume of credit card debt. Balance transfer is a good practice if done with caution and restraint.
A good credit cards with low APR rates on balance transfers.

    1. Advanta Life-of-Balance Platinum Card

This credit card issued by Advanta is very popular among the balance transfer community. The reason being that it offers a low 2.99% Fixed APR for LIFE on balances transferred within 3 months. That is an offer which few credit card companies can match. With this excellent balance transfer rate the Advanta Life-of-Balance Platinum Card offers Up to 6% Cash Back or Travel Rewards. The credit card has No annual fee, and the reward program has no limits on earnings. On the whole a good credit card to transfer the balances. The last thing you want to do is change your credit habits, which are PERFECT………

Why would you want balance transfer card, if you dont carry balances to begin with??? To pay a debt with a CC, then carry it over to something with 0%APR until you can pay the debt???

I dont understand why you’d want to screw up your credit , just to start getting these balance x-fer offers again….
