how do you do a balance transfer on credit card?

i am signing up for a new credit card and i want to transfer the balance.. it is asking for the lenders name, account number and amount… since ive nevr done this im a little woried about doing this… can i just wait till i get my new card in the mail and then when i go to make a payment on my old card use my new card so that way i will owe the new card instead of the old one?

Whne you sign up they will give the option to automaticly transfer the balance from oyur old card. Make sure you look for a card with a low interest rate and/or no transfer fees. A good place to find a great credit card is http://www.respectcreditcards.com

If you want to pay off your old credit card with the new one, all you have to do is call your new bank and tell them what you want paid off and they will do it for you. Sometimes there’s a small fee involved.
