I usually pay my discover bill monthly, however, I am running low this month. I transferred the balance onto another card. The bill is do today, and it hasn’t posted yet. I went ahead and paid the minimum payment. Is discover going to wipe my credit card down to zero, or am I going to have to pay interest on new purchases because the whole balance wasn’t paid off on date due? Thank you.

I have an old credit card that has about $700 on it. I recently received a new card from a different company that has 0% interest for the first 6 months. Can I pay off my old credit card with my new one or is this considered a balance transfer?

22 year old wading in some credit card debt. I want to do something about it now before it gets way out of hand. I have a $3500 loan from bank of america. About $450 in debt on a hsbc credit card, and about $1100 on a chase credit card, and $200 left on victorias secret credit card. I have completely discontinued use of all the credit cards and loan. I have not closed the accounts because I hear that will actually harm my credit. Up until the past 6-8 months I was paying more than the minimum balance on time. Financial hardships have forced me to send tardy payments and sadly miss some payments. I am wondering how balance transfers work. What credit card should I look into when deciding to transfer my debt? What should I look for and stay away from when signing up for a new card?

When I first started transferring credit card balances from one card to another there used to be a small charge of about £30-50 whatever the balance transferred but now all the credit card companies are charging at least 3% of the balance transferred which can be a tidy sum. I guess the companies could say its an agreed charge when you made the transfer. Any ideas?

I have a credit card through Bank of America with around $2,000 on the card. The account is already closed. The problem is I let the payments get away from me (my boyfriend had an accident and no insurance so all our money for that and for our mortgage) I’m wondering if I can get a new credit card and transfer the balance of this one onto that so that my monthly payment may be lower and I could get my payments back on track. How would I go about doing this? Thanks for any advice you can give me.
